How to convert HEIC to JPG when your browser supports it

Published by MyDocverter · Published and updated

Check native decoding support and choose a JPEG background.

Check device support first

HEIC and HEIF input work only when the current browser can decode the actual file. Support varies with the operating system, browser and codec. MyDocverter does not include a separate HEIC decoder. If decoding fails, use your device’s photo export or sharing options to create a JPEG or PNG first. AVIF input is also checked against the browser’s decoder.

Export a JPEG copy

Choose JPEG output, set quality and keep aspect ratio enabled. JPEG cannot retain transparency, so choose the background colour used to flatten transparent areas. The output is a genuinely encoded JPEG rather than a renamed HEIC file.

Preserve the original

Keep your HEIC original because a JPEG copy may lose dynamic range, metadata or fine detail. Check rotation, colours and dimensions before deleting or sharing anything. Still images are supported; SVG, GIF and animated image workflows are outside this converter.
