PDF vs JPG: which should you share?

Choose a document container or a single raster image.

What a PDF can keep

PDF can hold multiple pages, vector graphics, searchable text, links and forms. Choose it when readers need to print a report or find words. A PDF can also contain only scanned images, so a PDF extension alone does not guarantee searchable text.

What a JPG keeps

JPEG stores a single raster image with lossy compression. It is useful for a page preview but loses selectable text and interactive controls when exported from a PDF. PNG avoids JPEG compression artifacts and often works better for crisp diagrams.

Choose a practical resolution

Use the resolution selector to balance legibility and size. A higher value increases both pixel count and memory use. For multiple pages, the tool makes a ZIP so the individual images can be kept in order.
