How to compress photos for email

Reduce actual encoded bytes and understand target-size limits.
Choose dimensions and format
A photo for an email preview rarely needs the original camera dimensions. Keep aspect ratio enabled and set a suitable maximum width and height. JPEG suits ordinary photographs; WebP can save space where the recipient supports it. PNG preserves transparency but its quality slider is disabled because PNG has no lossy quality setting here.
Use a target size honestly
Choose a target such as 100 KB or enter your own. The compressor repeatedly encodes and measures real output bytes. Allow extra resizing only when you accept smaller dimensions. A difficult image may remain over the target; the result explicitly says when the target was not met. A converted file can also be larger than its source.
Review a batch
Process up to 12 images within the combined input limit. Each download shows dimensions and actual size changes. Use the ZIP download for the complete batch and open a few exported images before emailing them. Input images stay in your browser; the tool does not send your email or upload the photographs.
